The AI Authority Index (AAI) is a single 0–100 score that captures how well your brand performs across the four dimensions that decide whether AI recommends you.

The four pillars

  • Discovery (30%) — how often your brand appears at all in relevant prompts
  • Recommendation (25%) — how strongly you're recommended when you appear
  • Coverage (25%) — how broadly you appear across models and prompt categories
  • Positioning (20%) — how clearly and accurately AI describes who you are

The five tiers

  1. Low — rarely surfaced in relevant AI conversations
  2. Emerging — appears occasionally but inconsistently
  3. Established — reliable presence in your category
  4. Strong — frequently recommended against direct competitors
  5. Leading — dominant authority across models and prompts
